Refrigerator

These tips will allow your refrigerator to run properly and may lessen the chance of future refrigerator repair.

Try not to block the fan vents in the freezer and refrigerator sections.
Make sure all doors are sealing properly; wipe seals around door down with hot, soapy water to ensure the door seal properly seals.
Make sure the grate at the bottom stays clean, and vacuum the coils underneath periodically to ensure that there is good circulation.
Ice machines and subzero refrigerators need to be cleaned by a tech at least once a year. We will clean the coils and give an acid bath to the ice machine, if needed. We will look over the unit to make sure everything is properly working. Doing this simple maintenance will ensure a longer life for the unit and more satisfaction for you, the owner.

Range/Stove/Oven

Do not use oven cleaners on self-cleaning ovens.
Do not force the oven door open while in the self-cleaning mode. It will release once the temperature has dropped.

Dishwasher

If your dishes are not cleaning properly, there may be a simple test you can do before calling for a dishwasher repair. Run the hot water at the sink prior to starting the dishwasher so that the dishwasher gets hot water throughout the entire wash cycle. This will allow your dishwasher to run more efficiently, and your dishes will come out cleaner.

Helpful Tips for Leaving on Vacation

If you’re planning on taking a trip, make sure to turn off your ice maker before you go. Although most ice makers come with a safety switch that stops the ice from overflowing, it is not foolproof. Many people forget to do this and end up with a frozen mess in their freezer when they get back. Avoid the unnecessary service call and turn it off before you go.
